Built for What’s Next: Northwest Pump Welcomes Andy Maloney as Vice President of Service & Construction
As Northwest Pump expands its service capabilities and continues to grow, experienced service leader Andy Maloney joins the company to help build the next chapter.
For more than six decades, Northwest Pump has built its reputation by staying close to its customers — understanding their operations, solving problems alongside them, and developing relationships that, in some cases, have lasted more than 40 years. As the company has grown, so have the ways Northwest Pump can support those customers.
Today, Northwest Pump’s expertise extends across equipment, distribution, installation, construction, and ongoing service. And while the company has changed considerably since its founding in 1959, the foundation has remained the same: knowledgeable people, responsive service, and a commitment to helping customers succeed. It’s a foundation Andy Maloney knows well.
Andy recently joined Northwest Pump as Vice President of Service & Construction, bringing 18 years of experience leading service, construction, operations, and business transformation teams. In his new role, he will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Northwest Pump’s Service & Construction organization, supporting its people, customers, and continued growth. For Andy, the opportunity also brings his career full circle.
He began his career as an electrical engineer with Otis Elevator before moving into leadership roles overseeing field service, modernization projects, and sales operations. His career later brought him to Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Gasboy, where he gained firsthand experience in the petroleum equipment industry and an understanding of many of the same customers and challenges Northwest Pump serves today.
Over the following decade, Andy continued building his service leadership experience through roles within Danaher, Fortive, and Ralliant, ultimately serving as Vice President and General Manager of Tektronix’s global service organization.
There, he led a $250 million business with approximately 1,000 employees worldwide, overseeing service delivery, sales, engineering, quality, safety, customer experience, strategy and core growth.
Across industries, organizations, and increasingly complex leadership roles, one idea has remained consistent throughout Andy’s career: great service starts with great people. That philosophy was part of what drew him to Northwest Pump.
“What attracted me to Northwest Pump was the opportunity to combine my passion for service leadership with an industry I know well,” Andy said. “Northwest Pump’s reputation, long-standing customer relationships, commitment to service, and focus on doing the right thing for both customers and employees immediately stood out to me.”
It was not only Northwest Pump’s history that appealed to Andy, but the opportunity to contribute to its future. As the company continues to grow, its commitment to service remains central to how it supports customers and builds lasting partnerships. For Andy, those people have already made an impression.
Since joining Northwest Pump, he has been struck by the collaboration across the organization and employees’ willingness to dive in, solve problems, and support one another. He joins an experienced and accomplished Service & Construction team with deep knowledge of its customers, equipment, and markets. His focus is on helping those teams continue to succeed.
As Vice President of Service & Construction, Andy will work closely with leaders across Northwest Pump on workforce development, resource planning, safety and compliance, major customer relationships, continuous improvement, and initiatives that support safe, reliable, and high-quality service. That work ultimately comes back to the same thing that has driven Northwest Pump for decades: the customer.
“Our customers’ success is directly tied to our own success,” Andy said. “Expanding our service capabilities allows us to deliver greater value throughout the entire customer lifecycle, strengthen customer relationships, and create new opportunities for growth.”
Andy’s approach to leadership follows much the same philosophy. He believes in setting ambitious goals and clear expectations while ensuring employees have the coaching, resources, and support they need to succeed.
For him, one of the greatest rewards of leadership is watching people accomplish more than they thought possible — and seeing that growth continue throughout their careers.
“I measure leadership success by the growth of the people around me and the results we achieve together,” Andy said. “When team members are empowered, continuously developing, and consistently exceeding expectations, both the individuals and the organization benefit.”
That drive to keep growing extends beyond Andy’s work. Outside the office, he enjoys staying active and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family, whether hiking mountain trails, skiing in the winter, or surfing.
It’s fitting that the next chapter of his career brings him back to an industry he knows, in a region he calls home, at a company whose approach to service closely mirrors his own.
As Andy begins this next chapter with Northwest Pump, his focus is on building upon what is already here: experienced people, deep industry knowledge, trusted customer relationships, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and solve problems.
For Northwest Pump, his appointment represents another step forward while staying rooted in what has defined the company since 1959 — the belief that great people and great service are the foundation of lasting customer relationships.
